Navigating life’s challenges often leads us to rely on unproductive coping mechanisms, such as excessive worrying, engaging in unhealthy behaviors, or simply numbing our feelings. The good news is that there are now positive mental health programs rooted in mindfulness-based and cognitive behavioral psychology that can transform these mindsets.
With over 25 years of experience as a clinical psychologist, providing psychological services to children, teens, adults, and families, I am pleased to introduce these programs. They are embedded within sound evidence-based practices and centered on promoting emotional healing and well-being through the mind-body connection.

Evidence-Based
Based on extensive research on what works to reduce anxiety and distress and increase well-being. These programs incorporate elements of cognitive behavioral therapy to bring about a different way of relating to thoughts, feelings, and even sensations (such as pain).
Mindfulness-Based
and Experiential
Involving getting out of one's head and back into direct experiencing of one's life. Mindfulness-based programs promote bringing gentle awareness to present experience, including one's inner world (emotions, thoughts, sensations), which revives connection, aliveness, and better problem solving.
Holistic
Involving an understanding of how the mind, body, and life spirit of a person are inseparable. These programs promote intentionality to our self care, resulting in greater self-compassion and healing.

Mindfulness for Teen Stress:
6-Week Online Program
Focus: Reduce anxiety, enhance well-being.
Foundation: Based on MBCT (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy) and MBSR-T (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction for Teens), proven to lessen distress and foster calm.
Benefits: Develops compassionate awareness, improving stress and emotional management.
Target Audience: Teenagers aged 14-18 experiencing high stress and anxiety.
Duration: 6 weeks, 1.5-hour sessions weekly.
Format: Available online (Zoom) & In-Person in Manassas, VA 20110.

MBCT for Adults:
8-Week Online Program
Focus: Reducing anxiety, distress, depression; enhancing well-being.
Approach: Cultivates compassionate, non-judgmental engagement with thoughts and feelings.
Benefits: Improved coping, resilience, enjoyment in life and relationships.
Ideal For: Adults facing stress, anxiety, emotional distress, depressive symptoms (e.g., burnout, lack of motivation).
